Research, writing, creativity... This online portfolio is evidence that at the root of my passions lies the natural world. 

    I grew up surrounded by southern California chaparral in an undeveloped area in Northern San Diego county. It was in this pocket of nature where I developed my affinity for flora and fauna, which inspired me to study biology.

    It was in college that I first produced this online portfolio. Here, you'll find work I exhibit from Science Communication capstone courses I took to earn a minor from the Professional Writing Department at UC Santa Barbara. You'll also find samples from jobs and internships.

    The bulk of this work was created during my time at UC Santa Barbara. As a student there, I was enraptured by the community’s sense of environmental and social justice; not to mention their prized mountains and beaches. I received a degree in Biology: Ecology and Evolution; along with a minor in Professional Writing. In my spare time, I kept up-to-date with film releases, speakers and performers that came into town. Entertainment and science had particularly caught my eye, and often took me down internet "rabbit holes." I consumed countless articles, videos, and interviews until I felt I was informed.

    As a recent graduate, I hope to apply my passions and produce media for science, sustainability, or human-centered programs and businesses.
